Welcome Return of Hospitality

3rd July 2020

The whole Lancaster BID team are looking forward to welcoming so many of our hospitality sector and hair salons back to the city as they are able to reopen their doors from this weekend. With a significant proportion of the retail sector already trading, 4th July will mark an important step in the gradual journey back to normality.

The public will also be relieved to once again have somewhere to relieve themselves as public toilets reopen in Marketgate Shopping Centre on Saturday 4th July and St Nics Arcades on Monday 6thJuly.

Footfall has been increasing over the last few weeks and further businesses reopening will help to encourage more customers to venture safely back into the city centre. During this critical time it will be more important than ever to encourage social distancing to keep the city safe for us all. BID is fully supportive of the joint message from the City Council and Police to remind the public to play their part and not to jeopardise the hard work being put in by so many businesses.

As you reopen your doors, remember we are here to offer support every step of the way. We have limited stocks of social distancing floor markers available FREE of charge. We can also assist with free publicity through our social media channels and the Lancaster Guardian Shop Local column. Contact the BID office for details.

The weeks and months ahead will still have their challenges but by working together we can ensure that Lancaster continues to thrive and we retain a city centre we can all be proud of.
