Special Mention for Lancaster

4th October 2018

Lancaster BID was proud to nominate Lancaster city centre in the search to find the 2018 Great British High Street.

The Great British High Street Awards are an exciting opportunity for councils, businesses, community groups and volunteers to learn from the leading examples of the ways in which high streets are succeeding in overcoming the challenges of a rapidly changing environment.

Although Lancaster narrowly missed out on becoming a finalist, we were delighted to be recognised with a Special Mention in the Rising Star High Street category. This highlights the progress already being made towards future proofing Lancaster city centre as well as the ambitions to make things even better in the coming year.

Strong partnership working between Lancaster BID and Lancaster City Council ensures strategic level planning and delivery to improve the city centre for everyone who works, lives and invests in our historic city.

A Special Mention for Lancaster's first ever entry in the awards highlights the positive progress being made. Lancaster BID will be certain to submit another entry to the awards in 2019 when we are confident of having many more positive successes to share.

None of this could be achieved without the support of the city centre businesses. Thanks for all your support and efforts to ensure Lancaster continues to be a city to be proud of.
