New marketing research for Lancaster

15th February 2017

A new collaborative project aims to assess the different ways of marketing Lancaster to as many people as possible.

Lancaster BID is working with a group of students from Lancaster University to undertake a research project as part of their studies.

The students will assess the different methods of marketing that Lancaster BID is currently using to promote activities and events in the city centre.

This research will help Lancaster BID choose the most effective marketing methods to use in future years, to ensure more people here about events and activities happening in Lancaster.

Lancaster BID manager, Rachael Wilkinson, said: "We've worked with the Lancaster University students for a few years now and the research and results they obtain on our behalf have been invaluable.

"It's important that we continue to monitor and research our marketing and communication techniques, as this is a fundamental part of what we do.

An initial step is for the students to seek feedback from people who have attended our previous events to find out how most people heard about them.

An online survey has been set up and participants are in with a chance to win a £30 voucher to a store of your choice in Lancaster city centre.

Miss Wilkinson, added: "We have decided to offer a £30 voucher incentive to help us receive as many responses as possible, and this also allows consumers to spend the prize in their favourite local shop"
