Lancaster BID is returning towards full staff capacity as the team have been returning from furlough this week. This ensures we can step up our planning and implementation of safe initiatives to attract people back into the city centre as well as continuing to support businesses to adjust to the new routines.

The measures announced this week by the Chancellor should bring good news for many businesses, in particular in the hospitality sector. Details for some of these are explored in articles below.

We are also delighted with yesterday’s announcement of a further easing of lockdown measures including the reopening of beauty salons and fitness centres and gyms over the coming weeks. All businesses are encouraged to contact us if you need any support or advice as you reopen your doors. Our weekly Shop Local column is also still running in the Lancaster Guardian. If you wish to feature as you reopen your doors then drop us a line to [email protected].

The BID team are also busy planning ahead for our next Business Plan. We are aware that the current unprecedented situation is likely to have significantly changed priorities for businesses in the city centre. We want to hear what is most important to you and how you feel we can best support you over the coming months and years. Look out for our survey in your inbox early next week to give us your views.

We are here to support all city centre businesses so do get in touch if there is anything we may be able to help with.
