Lancaster BID Seeks New Director

12th August 2020

Have you got what it takes to become a new Company Director for Lancaster BID?

Lancaster BID is currently inviting expressions of interest to join our Board of Directors to further strengthen the skills of the current team.

Currently Lancaster BID has three directors from the local business community. These are Nick Wilkinson of Lune Properties, Mark Diggle of Diggles and Marcos and Phil Simpson of C2 Investments. The BID can have a board of between three and five Directors so currently has capacity for a maximum of two new members to join.

Being a company director for Lancaster BID is a highly rewarding role with critical oversight of the company ensuring strong benefits continue to be delivered for businesses across the city centre. The role is unpaid but provides high levels of satisfaction for the right candidate who has a passion for Lancaster.

Lancaster BID Chair, Nick Wilkinson, said “Lancaster BID is approaching a critical period as we work towards our next BID ballot in the new year when levy payers will decide if we continue for a further five years. This seems the ideal time to expand our board of directors to bring in new skills and fresh faces with new ideas.”

Although the directors have legal responsibility for the oversight of the company, they are by no means alone. They are closely supported by the BID Management board which includes a wide selection of key local business figures and makes many of the day to day decisions around the activities of Lancaster BID. Sub Groups also exist in many areas to guide the staff team in development and delivery of specific projects.

The ideal candidate(s) will work for a business in the city centre, have a passion for Lancaster and a desire to build strong relationships across the local business community.

If you are interested in finding out more or being considered for the role please contact Lancaster BID Manager, Tony Johnson, in the first instance for an informal chat about what is involved and what you can offer. You can reach Tony on [email protected] or 01524 590650.

Through building the skills of our Board of Directors, Lancaster BID can ensure we are strongly representative of local businesses and create the best opportunities for a further five year BID term
