As part of our “Safe and Secure” Lancaster campaign we are really pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Merrett as our new BID Warden with effect from Monday 6th July. Simon has a wealth of experience and is employed by Castlegate Security, but will be working for Lancaster BID for 30 hours per week on a shift basis as follows:
Week 1 Monday- Thursday 1000-1500, Friday and Saturday 1500-2000
Week 2 Tuesday-Saturday 1300-1900
Week 3 Tuesday-Saturday 1100-1700
This is part of our campaign to improve the city centre levels of various ASB issues such as:
Simon will be working closely with partners including Police, Security at St Nics and Marketgate, and Lancaster City Council. We are very keen to launch “Shopwatch” across the city to get as many businesses communicating together as we can, implementing one of several positive suggestions from our business networking event pre-COVID in March. The key to its success is us all working together sharing information (in the right way), and improving communication across radios etc.
