Lancaster BID – Giving Local Businesses a Voice

25th September 2020

Lancaster BID is committed to making sure that the voice of local businesses is heard and that information for businesses is shared as quickly and widely as possible.

When tighter local restrictions were announced for Lancashire it was an uncertain time for many local businesses. Full details of the restrictions took time to emerge and the message has not always been clear.

Throughout this period, Lancaster BID worked hard to make sure the voice of local businesses was heard. At the weekend the BBC actively sought out a representative of Lancaster BID to appear on NW Tonight. On the programme BID Development Manager, Tom Fyson, raised the need clarity in the new measures, support for the businesses hardest hit and queried the logic of including Lancaster whilst Blackpool was left out of the restrictions, despite higher infection rates.

Lancaster BID also helped facilitate a conference call with senior Lancaster City Council elected members and staff to hear more about how the local restrictions will be enforced. Over 80 people joined the call and there was a commitment to repeat the opportunity in the near future. Details will be shared as soon as they are available.

Any business with specific enquiries about the new local restrictions can email the city council at [email protected].

If there are specific issues you would like us to raise awareness of, or any way we can help you navigate the restrictions currently in place contact the Lancaster BID team on 01524 590650 or [email protected]. If we can’t help you directly we’ll point you in the right direction.
