Lancaster - a safe place to be

7th September 2017

Lancaster BID works successfully in partnership with the Police to monitor levels of crime in the city centre and ensure it is a safe and welcoming place to live, visit, work and do business.

Incidents of high level violent crime continue to be low in the city demonstrating that people should feel safe to be out and about on our streets.

The BID Ambassador is out and about on the city streets taking note of any visible issues and listening to the concerns and issues affecting city centre businesses. These are shared with the Police and other partners at regular Improvement Group meetings to help inform effective strategies in the city centre.

With the support of local businesses, crime in the city centre can be tackled even more effectively. If you have any areas of concern, you can report these to the BID Office or our Ambassador and we will ensure the information is shared. If you are unlucky enough to be a victim of crime in the city centre, however minor, please report it to the Police. An accurate log of incidents is invaluable to plan ahead and continue to ensure Lancaster is a safe place to be for everyone.
