Keeping the Streets Clean

5th December 2018

Lancaster BID has a long standing partnership with Lancaster City Council to keep the city centre streets clean. We are delighted to announce that a new Cleansing Operative has been appointed to join the team. Ben can be easily identified when out on his rounds by his Lancaster BID branded uniform and barrow.

As well as regular litter picking, Ben will be trained in 'gum zapping' to tackle the chewing gum which is an all too frequent blight on the city streets.

Over the past year the partnership between Lancaster BID and Lancaster City Council has also made a huge step forward in tackling frequent grot spots and graffiti in the city centre. Ginnels are being regularly power washed and graffiti is being quickly removed to ensure the city centre remains a welcoming place for everyone.

Feedback from businesses is critical to ensuring that cleansing resources are being targeted to the right areas. If you wish to highlight any issues near your business then please get in touch. Email or phone the Lancaster BID office on 01524 590650. We will ensure that reported issues are addressed as quickly as possible.

Thanks for your support in helping to keep our city clean!
