January BID Breakfast – ASB

Book now for the next Lancaster BID Breakfast – FREE of charge for businesses in the city centre.

After the success of our 1st BID Breakfast in October we are holding another one on January 23rd on the topic of Anti-Social Behaviour. Representatives of City Centre Businesses can book their FREE tickets now here.

From feedback we have received we realise that this is becoming a big issue across the city with issues coming under the ASB banner of: Shoplifting, begging, homelessness, drinking on the streets, sleeping bags in doorways, unpleasant behaviour, etc etc

Our aim with this event is to try and get all parties “singing off the same hymn sheet” and also understand the challenges from different perspectives. We have partnered The Police and Crime Commission to put this event on and we felt the best way of getting the most out of it was to do a “Question Time” style event with a panel made up of the following:

Chair – Professor Dame Sue Black (Lancaster University)

Councillor Caroline Jackson – LCC Cabinet Member

Sergeant Lindsay Brown – Partnerships Officer Lancashire Constabulary

TBC – Member of LCC ASB Team

Tim Tomlinson – Chair of Pubwatch

Tony Johnson – Lancaster BID Manager

TBC – representative from city centre business

We will have 1 main rule – this is not going to be a “blame culture” session. We have to accept we have issues maybe not as big as other towns and cities but the problems are getting worse. This is our chance to have some joined up thinking about how as a city do we improve the current situation – we ALL have to play our part.

In true “Question Time” style it would be great to receive some questions for before the event, so please feel free (if your attending) to pose a question to [email protected].

Registration – 08:00-08:15

Breakfast rolls and coffee – 08:00-08:30

Opening by Nick Wilkinson, Chair of Lancaster BID – 08:30 prompt

Question time session – 08:35-09:35 (1 hour, if needed)
