We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate all the efforts made in 2018, from the hours contributed by Directors, Board members, stakeholders, businesses and the Lancaster BID staff team, who all made real contributions to the Lancaster BID programme and made it such a successful year.
2018 was a fantastic year for Lancaster BID, with highlights including winning an award for our Festa Italia marketing campaign, promoting 40+ businesses through our shop local campaign, installing the umbrella canopy on New Street, repairing 3 ginnels, producing the busiest ever Christmas Lights Switch On and supporting 14 organisations through our match-funded business improvement grants and special project funds. We were also delighted to work with so many positive and impactful businesses and stakeholders, who all made valuable contributions towards our own, and the city’s developing agenda.
In 2019, we look to continue the success of 2018 and further build on the strong relationships we have already developed, which are imperative for continued progress. We want to further enhance our engagement with Levy Payers, and encourage feedback. Whether you have a concern over a grot spot, or a brand new idea for an event- we want to hear from you. We will also be looking to influence the national agenda, with events such as our Regional Event for Lancaster in partnership with Revive & Thrive in May, representing Lancaster businesses as part of our role on the Lancaster Place Brand Board and by working closely with Lancaster City and County Council on an extensive and exciting improvements agenda, commencing with a planting scheme for Lancaster from Spring 2019.
