HS2- Lancaster Stop

High Speed 2 (HS2) is a high-speed railway, which when completed, will directly connect London, Birmingham, the East Midlands, Leeds and Manchester. Scheduled to open in phases between 2026 and 2033, high-speed trains will travel up to 400km per hour on 330 miles of track.

Lancaster BID, in partnership with local stakeholders, are collating the evidence to support Lancaster being included as a stop on the HS2 north route.

Currently there are two proposals being considered. One proposal would include Preston as the only Lancashire stop and a second option having two stops in Lancashire, one being Lancaster.

A HS2 stop in Lancaster would open up new opportunities for Lancaster and would enhance our position as commercial and tourist destination.

Please complete the short survey with whether your business would be supportive of a stop at Lancaster. Your comments will be important in supplying the evidence required, as to why a stop in Lancaster is crucial for Lancaster and the District.
