City Centre Parking Charges Update

3rd June 2020

Over the last few weeks Lancaster BID has lobbied the council hard on the subject of parking and urged them to look at various incentives to support short term parking (1 to 2 hours) during the recovery period. Unfortunately, and not through lack of trying, we could not convince them to do anything different. We believe the parking charges on city centre car parks will come back into fruition on June 8th. Whilst we are disappointed with the decision, we understand the council’s position from a financial point of view.

We continue to work with the City Council on other initiatives to support city centre businesses. We would welcome any ideas you might have for your business or the wider business community to help through the recovery phase. If you have ideas or want to get involved please contact [email protected].
