Christmas Late Night Shopping 2016

6th October 2016

Lancaster BID has been checking late night opening plans with our Healthy High Street partners including Boots, EE, Greggs, Marks & Spencer and Wilko in an effort to make hours as consistent as possible across the city. These businesses, and many others, will be opening late on Thursday evenings in the run up to Christmas. Although some stores will close at 8.00pm we encourage businesses to follow the lead of Boots by staying open until 9.00pm to make the most of the anticipated increase in footfall.

BID will be providing walkabout street entertainment on all Thursday nights between the Christmas Lights Switch-On (Sunday 20th November) and Christmas. The performers will move around the city centre drawing people towards as many businesses as possible.

BID will also be heavily promoting the free parking offer on all Lancaster City Council car parks. This is available all day on Sundays and from 6.00pm on Thursday evenings between November 20th (Lights switch-on) and Christmas.

We encourage you to stay open late on the late night shopping evenings to make the most of the increase number of people. Let us know you'll be open and we can promote you on our social media channels and aim to ensure the entertainment passes by your door.

We wish you all a successful Christmas trading!
