Busy Month at Lancaster BID

The BID team have been busy at events over the last month with high levels of engagement with local businesses as well as promoting out historic city centre to the local community.

At the North Lancs Expo we launched our Winter in the City programme with the announcement of the headline acts for the Christmas Lights Switch On. This generated significant excitement with visitors getting the opportunity to win a meet and greet with their favourite headline act.

The following week saw the Lancaster BID AGM where we premiered our video showcasing highlights of the past year. The AGM also saw Mark Diggle, Phil Simpson and Nick Wilkinson elected to continue as Lancaster BID company directors for a further three years.

October 3rd saw the first BID Breakfast which was a huge success with over 50 businesses coming together to listen to an update on the Canal Corridor and other local developments. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. We are already planning ahead for our next BID Breakfast event in the New Year so watch out for details.

Finally the BID team attended the Lancaster University Freshers’ Fair to promote the city and encourage students to discover the delights of our city centre. Footfall has already been improving since the students returned to the city and we hope this will see a further boost after the Indie Lancaster and Lancaster After dark leaflets were handed out.

After all these events we’ve no time to relax as the team are now busy preparing for Winter in the City!
