Lancaster BID is asking you to ‘Bring on The Brollies’ again for the Umbrella trail which we are hosting over the summer to coincide with the umbrella canopy which we are installing on New Street, in the lead up to the second Lancaster Festa Italia which takes place on Sunday 8th September. There are a couple of opportunities to involve your business in these fantastic events.
Umbrella Trail
If you would like to participate in the trail, then all we need from you is confirmation that you will be able to host an indoor vinyl sticker in your businesses window from 5th August until 9th September 2019. The aim of the trail is to give families an activity to complete over the summer holiday, promote the upcoming Lancaster Festa Italia and to drive footfall around the city centre, to explore the city centre and the businesses that operate here. Stickers are approximately A4 in size.

Brolly Bonus
If you would like to be more involved with the umbrella trail you can offer a ‘Brolly Bonus’. This would mean you have the same sticker as advised above but your sticker would also say ‘Brolly Bonus’. This would mean that your business was offering a small treat to participants of the trail. This could be anything from a sweet, or something specific to your business e.g. a mini cone of chips if you operate a chippy or a printed children’s recipe if you operate a restaurant of café, to even something as simple as a smile or a high-five! This element of the trail may appeal to you if you want to drive footfall into your business, as participants will be advised to enter the business to ask for their ‘Brolly Bonus’. Please ensure your ‘Brolly Bonus’ is suitable for children and families who will be the main participants in this particular activity. If you are able to offer a ‘Brolly Bonus’ please ensure this is something you can sustain for the duration of the trail as it will be advertised on trail map.

Lancaster Festa Italia
Sunday 8th September 2019
11am – 7pm
The event will be a celebration of all things Italian with Italian stalls, street food, entertainment and children’s activities taking place on Market Street, Market Square, New Street and Church Street.
