9th May 2019
A much anticipated initiative to improve Church Street and North Road will become a reality next week when the innovative planting scheme arrives.
The planters are scheduled to be installed on Wednesday 15th May and are set to brighten the street and help drive increased footfall past local businesses.
Businesses are invited to join us at 10.00am to join in with
the planting and be part of a photo call to highlight your support for this
innovative project. Put the date in your diary and don;t forget to join us!
The scheme will be completed with bespoke Lancaster branded bunting which will be hung at each end of the planting scheme to mark the entrance points into the city centre.
A new footfall counter is being installed to monitor pedestrian movement on Church Street and to help demonstrate the positive impact this scheme is expected to have.
This scheme is being delivered as result of strong partnership working between Lancaster BID and Lancaster City Council. This is the first phase of a project which will be rolled out across the city centre. Sites are currently being scoped and three future phases are anticipated by spring 2020.
To suggest locations for further phases of planting or to highlight any city centre issues please contact the Lancaster BID team on 01524 590650 or email@example.com.
