BID Board Recruitment

8th February 2017

Lancaster businesses are invited to seize the opportunity to work on improving the prosperity of the city centre and on shaping its future!

Lancaster BID is seeking new members for our Management Board as we prepare for the second year of the five year term which began on 1 April 2016.

In the last year we have welcomed new representatives from Marks & Spencer, Boots, Greggs, EE, Holdens Solicitors, JWK Solicitors and HAYS Recruitment who have been working on BID Sub Committees, showing the value of our initiatives to the business community in Lancaster.

The focus now is on expanding the Management Board itself to ensure that all business sectors are represented as some current members stand down. This will enable Lancaster BID to continue to deliver strong benefits to the businesses which operate here. By joining the Management Board and perhaps working on a Sub Committee you can have a real say in what activities are prioritised to ensure ongoing success.

Board Members are primarily made up from representatives of BID levy-paying businesses with options also available to voluntary members who have specific skills to offer.

Becoming a member is not onerous but does require a commitment to attend meetings and to be able to contribute towards discussions and decisions via email as and when required. Opportunities to become more heavily involved are also anticipated with the current Chair, Paul Cusimano, indicating his intention to step down as Chair at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Anyone interested in becoming a Board member or joining any of the Standing Sub Committees (currently Events, Promotions and Christmas; Improvements; and Finance) is invited to email bidmanager@lancasterbid.org or phone the BID office on 01524 590650 for further details of the the application process which will be managed by Holdens Solicitors.
